The Planning Commission meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 P.M. The meetings are held in the Council Chambers at La Verne City Hall, 3660 D Street, La Verne. The purpose of the Planning Commission is to oversee and insure high quality development within the community; to carry out goals, policies and objectives as set forth by the City Council; and to insure compliance with the Zoning Ordinance and General Plan. The meetings are open to the public.
The members of the Planning Commission server voluntarily and do not get any paid compensation. They are appointed by Council Members and server 4 year terms with a maximum of 2 terms. Elected officials may not serve on the commission and the commissioners cannot serve on other commissions at the same time.

SENIOR CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Meetings: 3rd Wednesday of each month 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., La Verne Community Center
Purpose: This Committee has been responsible for all senior programs and activities at the Community Center. If you would like to share your thoughts, ideas, or concerns, please plan to attend these public meetings.A private non-profit organization whose mission is to promote independence and enhance the quality of life for seniors by providing services. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) offers opportunities for seniors to use their talents and experience in community services ranging from tutoring to delivering meals to the home-bound. Senior Employment Program assists seniors to find employment (mostly part-time). Get About Transportation is a door-to-door transportation system for the elderly and disabled residents. In-home Respite provides support for the caregivers of the frail elderly. Respite Center provides part time day care for frail or confused elderly who are mobile. Senior Peer Counseling assist seniors to find acceptable and satisfying solutions to problems.
