Please join us in congratulating our most recent Pride of La Verne Award Recipients!
The Jack Huntington Award was presented to Linda Logan. A long-time resident, she was involved in La Verne Little League as a team mom and a founding member of the La Verne Little League Auxiliary. She also helped raise funds for the Junior Division Little League families to travel to Taylor Michigan for the World Series. She started the K9 Partners of Covina, is a member of the Covina Rotary, and is the Founder and Chairman of the Field of Valor. In 2019, Linda started the La Verne K9 & Police Foundation, which has raised $160,000.00 to date.
The Jim Scranton Award was presented to Eric Shadrick. Eric volunteering started at his daughter’s La Verne Height elementary school, where he helped with many school events. He also volunteered at Ramona Middle School and Bonita High School in several capacities. His lifelong love of soccer was passed to his daughters and his youth soccer career began as an assistant AYSO coach in 2006. Eight years later, he began coaching club level with the La Verne Lazers Soccer Club. As a Board member, he created two teams and was voted President. He helped strengthen the Club from three to eleven teams and was the Club Liaison to the City’s Youth Sports Committee. Since moving on from the Lazers, he looks forward to continuing to serve on the Youth Sports Committee as a Member at Large. Most recently he is a founding member of Cal Poly Pomona’s Parent Ambassador Program.
