The City of La Verne offers many special events throughout the year to residents and the surrounding communities.
Sidewalk Coloring Contest
Children 1 to 12 years old can display their creative talents in the Sidewalk Coloring Contest! Children can showcase their artistic skills by drawing with chalk on a sidewalk square. Prizes are awarded to various age groups.

Please pre-register from February 27 to April 4 at the Community Services Office or by calling 909-596-8700. Late registration will be accepted the day of the event from 9:00 AM to 9:25 AM at Mainiero Square (Corner of Third and "D" Street)

This is the day we honor and remember the brave soldiers, marines, sailors, airmen and Coast Guardsmen who lost their lives, are prisoners of war or missing in action while serving our country. No other day in the American calendar is more solemn than this day.
This years Ceremony will include two special observances:
- POW/MIA Recognition - This ceremony honors and remembers the more than 140,000 former American prisoners of war and some 83,000 service members who remain missing and unaccounted-for and one from the City of La Verne.
- A Final Roll Call - This ceremony is a military ritual designed to serve as a tribute paid by Soldiers to their deceased comrades.

Halloween Coloring Contest
Children 3 to 12 years can display their coloring talent by coloring a page provided by the Community Services Department. Coloring page can be picked up at the Community Services Office or downloaded online beginning September 19. Participants artwork will be displayed in the downtown area for several weeks. Prizes are awarded to various age groups.
Date: Late September through Mid-October

Divisions: 3 - 4 years | 5 - 6 years | 7 - 9 years | 10 - 12 years

Since our Country's founding, 28 million Americans have served in the United States Military. Americas Veteran's have done everything asked of them in their duty to serve our Country. This Ceremony is our chance to give them a hero's welcome home.
Veterans Day Ceremony includes a U.S. flag raising ceremony and singing of the National Anthem. Veterans from each branch of the military will be recognized with the raising of their Branches respective flag.

All Concerts in the Park events will be held every other Sunday beginning in June through first week in August.

The City of La Verne's Holiday Stroll features a Christmas tree lighting at Mainiero Square, a special reading of The Night Before Christmas and a chance to take a picture with Santa Claus himself!
