Coyote Management Plan
To address this regional concern and provide a consistent message when dealing with coyotes, the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, the County of Los Angeles, the Inland Valley Humane Society (IVHS), and the San Gabriel Valley Council of government (SGVCOG) has identified and adopted a framework for municipalities in the San Gabriel Valley to coordinate coyote management efforts.

La Verne Fire & Emergency Services
The City of La Verne engaged a third-party consultant to evaluate a report provided by LA County Fire on the services they could provide to La Verne and the associated costs, as well as to conduct a preliminary analysis of the City’s current state of fire operations along with a path forward to maintain its independent department.

Sierra La Verne
The City has been informed that Sierra La Verne Country golf course is being marketed for sale. Since this has prompted some concerns among area residents the City wanted to make the following information available to address many of the concerns raised. We will continue to update this section as more information becomes available.

SB9 - The CA HOME Act
At its adjourned meeting on March 7, 2022, the La Verne City Council discussed Senate Bill 9 (SB 9), the California Housing Opportunity and More Efficiency (HOME) Act, and its potential impacts on the City. SB 9 is the state’s multi-year effort to address the statewide housing crisis by providing more opportunity for homeowners to develop multi-family units on their existing single-family residential lot.
